This one is beautiful! They really wanted everything to match nicely and compliment each other rather than just combining a ton of random, outdoorsy looking things together. Every detail from the slightly green/blue stained wood coffee table, to the diamond stitched pattern on the sofa, to the big furry foot stools… Everything looks luxurious, while at the same time being rustic.

Southwestern design can actually find a perfect place to fit into a cabin. Take a look at the handmade Indian clothing and bags hung up on the wall behind the sofa, and the animal pelt above the fireplace. Not to mention that giant aztec patterned area rug! The right accessories and decor can totally change the whole feel of the room.

This cabin is neater, nicer and more organized than most others. They didn’t necessarily want a bunch of fur rugs, taxidermy, or old wooden skis as decor. Instead they took a tasteful take on a wood cabin, with the “less is more” motto in mind.

The thing that pulls this cabin all together has to be that buffalo taxidermy. Something about those furry wall hangings just scream “cabin getaway.” If you have your basic cabin all set up but you feel it is lacking just a little bit in coziness, add a nice taxidermy to the room!

One thing we haven’t seen much of is proper lighting in cabins! If anything, the lighting should be dimmed down and the fireplace should be crackling. Take a look at how they really set the mood in this space by lighting the fireplace and a few candles, and dimming the lights down to a warm glow. All they need is a glass of wine and someone to chat with on that lovely bed!
