Making an Office Space More Inviting

Nothing can give you a case of the Monday blues quite like going into work and staring at the blank four walls of a cubicle. Cubicles, in my opinion, are proven to stifle creativity and be non-motivators. There’s no way I could get work done efficiently shoved in a tiny blank space. So I’ve come up with a few ways that anyone could use to improve an office space in a cubicle or in a home office and make it more enjoyable!

1. Make your space cozy

Let’s be honest with ourselves, you’re going to be at work a lot. Why not dress up your space to feel a little homey? Light blankets and lovely rugs are great additions to bring a comfortable feel to your office space.

2. Add some fun accessories

Fun accessories are a great way to remind yourself to have fun and enjoy your work! They are also a great way to express your personality. My favorite places to shop for desk accessories are Etsy, NastyGal, Amazon, and Urban Outfitters.

3. Add plants

A succulent or a low-maintenence plant is a great addition to an office space that you don’t have to feel guilty about for leaving over the weekend. Adding greenery to your space can help uplift your mood and give you a little bit of distraction when you need to turn your eyes away from the screen. Need a break? Water your plant!

4. Stay stylishly organized

Organization doesn’t have to be boring. In fact, we live in a world where there are so many great, fun organizational tools readily available! Whether it’s sticky notes, an app, a notepad, or a pin board, staying stylishly organized is a great way to make your day a little brighter.

5. Add DIY projects

A great way to ensure that you have pride in your workspace is by including one of your own DIY projects. These clip-on desk organizers not only look good and function, but they are easy to make!

6. Aquire some motivational wall art

A great way to keep yourself ready-to-work and motivated is some lovely wall art to stare at! Need something that’s going to make you feel bossy? Grab a #girlboss poster. Need some tough love? Find a poster with a Ron Swanson quote on it. Digital downloads are a great (and cheap) way to get some awesome wall art! All you need is a printer!

7. Reflect your style in your space

At the end of the day, the best way to ensure that you’re happy with your workspace is if it reflects your personal style. Throw up some pictures of your dog, bring your favorite mug from home, and enjoy your own personal “you” space. We hope these tips have inspired you to brighten up your space and kick out the workspace blues for good.
